hypocritical support

So I heard this dude on the metro say "how can you say you support the troops but not the war - if you don't support the war you're not supporting the troops."
I guess this retarded idea still hasn't gone out of style.

There are a ton of ways to support the troops - send a package over, vote (wow, that's a fucking novel idea -- and a civic duty, too), say a prayer for us, at church if you go or just sitting at your desk because you're thinking of us at some random time. You can even bake a cake and say this is for the troops while you stuff your face, hey, at least you're thinking about us -- I'd like to eat the cake, so enjoy it for me, I'll enjoy it vicariously.

But if you really support the war, I mean you think it's a good idea and you think the only way to support the troops is to support the war - then put on a fucking uniform and go - post haste, yesterday, otherwise you're a hypocrite.

And if you can't go for some legitimate reason of age or physical incapability there are many avenues of appropriate service other than telling a vet that he doesn't support the troops because he doesn't support the war. Fuck you. I defended your freedom to be so ignorant. I have more respect for flag burners than your kind.

At least the VA budget bill passed -

Can we keep momentum on pro-military bills long enough to pass this accountability bill. Officers are held accountable for their actions, at least in theory - that should mean doctors and other medical "professionals," too.
